Main Character Monday: Interview with Addie Masters
Main Character Monday: Interview with Addie Masters
Welcome to another Main Character Monday! Today, I have the pleasure of hosting an interview with Addie Masters from Home Baked Bribery by Gina Holder. This is the second in the Addie Masters Mystery series. Let’s get right to my interview with Addie Masters. Welcome, Addie. Please tell us a little about yourself.
Let’s see, I’m almost thirty-years old, and I’ve lived in Rockport, Massachusetts my entire life. I still live in the farmhouse built by my great-grandparents in the early 1900s. I run a junk removal business that I inherited from my dad. White Elephant Junk Removal. On the side, I do handyman jobs around town and build DIY upcycling projects that I sell at the local farmer’s market. I love rescues and currently have Sherlock, a rottweiler, Miss Marple, a Great Dane, Nancy, a bullmastiff, Winston, a potbelly pig, and Friday, a Ragdoll cat.
Sounds like you run a zoo! Tell me something about you that readers may find surprising?
I have no phobias. That’s not to say I don’t get scared. If a situation is frightening, like having a gun aimed at me, I’ll be afraid, but I have no specific phobias. I’m not afraid of closed in spaces, heights, snakes, mice, sharks, spiders, flying, germs, public speaking, the dark … and because I’m a Christian, I don’t fear death either.
I imagine in your line of work, not fearing mice, snakes, spiders, and things like that comes in handy. What is your favorite Bible verse and why?
My favorite Bible verse is Philippians 4:13, I can do all things through Christ which stengtheneth me.
Great verse. Is there a person from the Bible that you relate to most?
Probably Martha. I have a hard time sitting still. I’m always on the move from one project to another. But, I am known for being a good listener.
Finding that balance is a good thing. The fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Is there one of these characteristics you find is easier to show than the others?
Faithfulness. I’m loyal—like a dog.
From your earlier list, I’d say you are the expert on that! Is there one that is more challenging than the others?
That would be self-control. I tend to do things without thinking like eating too many cookies or rushing into a dangerous situation.
Ah, maybe that no fears thing coming into play. With the dangerous situations, not so much the cookies. If you could give one message to those reading this interview, what would you tell them?
I know it’s hard to follow God’s principles for our lives, but it is so worth it. He makes it worth it.
That is a great message. Now, I’d like to have a little fun. If you could visit just one place your entire life, where would you go?
To be perfectly honest, there’s no place like home. I have never wanted to go anywhere else.
If you could choose one talent you don’t already have, what talent would you choose?
I’d love to be able to play a musical instrument—maybe the ukelele or the tuba. I have zero musical talents.
Dark or Milk Chocolate? Milk
Beach or Mountains? Beach
Sweet Tea or Lemonade? Sweet Tea
With only three words, how would you describe Gina Holder?
