You Wrote a Book
You wrote a book, or maybe, you’re in the process of writing a book. It’s clean or Christian fiction. Maybe you went with a cozy mystery or historical. Or you wrote a contemporary rom-com or a moving historical romance are more your expertise. Maybe you even get a little wild and crazy by building your own worlds with something in the speculative fiction genre.
No matter the genre, you wrote a book (or are in the process) that you’re proud of and you wonder what the next step should be for your book baby. Maybe you wonder if what you wrote is on the right path to being a professionally published book that others will want to read. Maybe you’re deciding if you should indie publish or traditionally publish or try to get an agent’s attention.
Have you thought about entering your story in a contest?
Contests are a great way to get feedback on your work. They’re a great way to get your name out in the publishing world. They’re a great way to learn and grow as a writer. And Scrivenings Press, my publisher, is hosting two separate contests right now.
If you wrote a book (the manuscript is complete), the Get Pubbed Writing Contest is the one you want to consider. The winner of this contest receives a publishing contract, along with other prizes. You can find information on that one here:
If you’re in the process of writing your book but haven’t completed it yet, you should take a look at the Novel Starts Writing Contest. The winner will receive a critique of 25 pages of their manuscript, along with other prizes.
