Solomon’s Porch – What I’m Reading

Solomon's PorchI’d heard good things about Solomon’s Porch, the debut novel from Janet Morris Grimes. Various posts praising the work kept popping up in my social media feeds. The novel was a finalist in various awards I keep track of. With all the positive buzz, I moved it to the top of my TBR list. And I stayed up way too late finishing it!

Solomon’s Porch is unique in its concept and excellent in its delivery. It’s uplifting and heart-string tugging at the same time. The story is a beautiful reminder that all our stories weave together in ways we may never know. That being the case, being the hands and feet of Jesus to those around us takes on even more importance. And it’s not even the big things. Something as simple as a glass of lemonade and a little bit of time on the front porch can have a huge impact.

There are many layers to the story of Solomon’s Porch, and they all come together to create a beautiful story that inspires me to want to go sit on my front porch and share God’s love with those around me through simply being with them.

I give this book five stars, and I can’t wait to see what Janet Morris Grimes writes next!
